Arifuzzaman Al Imran wants to provide free legal assistance in Tofajjal murder case, a student who was beaten to death in Dhaka University’s Fazlul Haque Muslim Hall. He said that he will handle the case without any remuneration for the fair trial of this murder.
He said, “Tofajjal murder case is not just a murder case, it is a fight for justice towards the society. I want no one to be unjustly persecuted and the law should always be open to them.”
Tofazzal, who was mentally ill, on charges of plagiarism some university students arrested and brutally beat to death. The police have already arrested those involved in the murder and the case is under investigation.

Tofajjal has no one to call his own. His relatives claimed that he suffered from mental illness and that his life had become disjointed. As he had no one of his own, Arifuzzaman announced that he would provide free legal aid to Al Imran.
There is widespread anger among the students over the killing of Tofajjal on the campus of Dhaka University. Various organizations have strongly protested the incident and demanded exemplary punishment for the culprits.
Arifuzzaman Al Imran also said, “This case is not just a personal fight, it is a question of establishing justice for the whole society. I firmly believe that by establishing the rule of law we can prevent such incidents.
Preliminary investigation revealed that several students caught him and beaten up during murder. The police provides an information that six students have confessed their involvement in the incident and the police is taking legal action against them.
On the next hearing date of the case, Arifuzzaman Al Imran will take legal action on behalf of Tofazzal’s family.
